Work Undercover

Work Undercover is a driving mode introduced in Midtown Madness 3. It is a Single Player mode and the objective is to work as an undercover officer (in Paris) or a private detective (in Washington, D.C.) who is assigned to different missions to work on different tasks assigned by your boss. This mode serves as a "career mode" with a default car and game settings. Each city has seven different jobs.

Paris[]

The player is assigned as an undercover agent who is assigned to protect the world famous racecar driver Dieter Kleinmann. The player is assigned to work undercover as a delivery driver to bring back good information, while competing with Mathilda, another rival driver. The player eventually delivers a package to Sven, a Scandinavian tourist.

The player is later assigned as a taxi driver and delivers Sven's two friends Olle and Inga to the hotel where he was staying at.

While working as a chauffeur, the player delivers Sven to the bus station while evading the Paris police and later drives Kleinmann.

As a security guard, the player delivers Sven to the bus station for him to be escorted back to Scandinavia and manages to collect Kleinmann's award before Olle and Inga attempt to steal it.

Kleinmann is later kidnapped by Olle and Inga and his award was stolen. The player is then assigned as a paramedic and manages to rescue Kleinmann's bodyguard.

The player then joins the Paris police, capturing Inga and helping the police set up roadblocks around the city.

Eventually, the player stops working undercover and follows Olle to his hideout. They then pick up Olle's grunts and delivers them to the police station so they could testify against the Scandinavian kidnappers. Finally, the player chases Olle and stops him before he could escape with Kleinmann.

Washington D.C.[]

The player is assigned to work as a private detective in Washington D.C with two filmmakers named Stephano and Michael Tortellini to produce their action film, The Quick and the Slippery. The player is first assigned to work as a pizza delivery driver while competing against Angelina, another rival driver.

The player then works as a rental car driver, doing more work for the Tortellini Brothers, as well as Mr. Pickie, a screenwriter for The Quick and the Slippery.

While working as a limo driver, the player takes note of Michael doing deals with a Hot Shot Producer and later helps Stefano follow Michael in his own limo.

The player is then assigned as a car salesman, where they sell a car to Michael.

The player then poses as a stunt car driver for The Quick and the Slippery and manages to beat Angelina.

The player later joins the Washington D.C. police, where they manage to stop Stefano from making prank calls to Michael and trying to ram him off the road.

Eventually, the player manages to uncover the truth behind the Hot Shot Producer, who manages to steal the film of The Quick and the Slippery from the Tortellini Brothers while pitting them against other. With the brothers reunited, the player manages to stop the Hot Shot Producer before he escapes with the film.
